1) To give the higher accuracy in the test result, it needs to collect and preserve it properly during transport. If it is not carried in the proper manner, it may have to get it re-collected.

3) The Blood collector or phlebotomist can collect blood from approved sites that include body parts as,
· Antecubital area on the arm
· Side of wrist
· Back of hand
· Blood can also be taken from ankle and foot area, but it could be possible written permission given by the physician.
4) Unacceptable Sites
The blood collecting agent cannot collect from body sites including, fistulas, arterial lines, femoral vein, shunts, arteries, palmar region in the wrist and varicose veins.
5) Alternate sites for blood collection
Take blood from hand or arm side of masectomy, if taking blood from other blood collection sites have been ruled out.
